Are you looking to develop, even master, hand carving skills? You may have carved a Spoon before (or not), or maybe are a daily whittler, but you want to release spoons & other objects from a log, which requires dexterity and skill in working with a hatchet, spoke shave and draw knife.
Carve a Cooking Spoon from a Log helps you reach those goals. This class provides a fantastic follow-up to our one-day “Spoon Carving” workshop, offering a two-day immersive experience taking students through the whole process of carving a spoon from a log using hand tools. Students will have the opportunity to learn how to rough out their own blanks using a variety of hand-tools like hatchets, spoke shaves, draw knives, block planes and more, to produce a large cooking spoon.
While this course provides a Learning Path for experienced carvers to learn new techniques, no prior carving experience is required for this class.
