Catalyst Quartet
Electric Earth Concerts is delighted to join the Keene Public Library in presenting a free concert by the Catalyst Quartet on Saturday, June 4, from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., at Heberton Hall, 60 Winter Street, in Keene. Hailed by The New York Times at its Carnegie Hall debut as "invariably energetic and finely burnished… playing with earthy vigor," the Grammy Award-winning Catalyst Quartet was founded by the internationally acclaimed Sphinx Organization in 2010. The ensemble believes in the unity that can be achieved through music and imagine their programs and projects with this in mind, redefining and reimagining the classical music experience. "Beautiful to watch, like a family in lively conversation at the dinner table: anticipating, interrupting, changing subjects" – NY Times. The program will include some of the following-- Viennese music by Haydn and Webern, West Coast mavericks John Cage and Terry Riley, plus their "CQ Minute" birthday tributes commissioned from 10 of their favorite composers.
