Covered Bridge Primitives Season Opening

Only 10 minutes from Keene, Covered Bridge Primitives is a quaint little gift shop full of hand-painted treasures for you and your gift-giving pleasure. We open each year in mid-October and are open each weekend from 10am - 4pm until the Sunday before Christmas. We specialize in hand-painted decoratives in both primitive and folk art styling. We also offer many other handmade choices--birds, flowers, Americana, seasonal and all season choices, as well as paintings on unique surfaces. Most pieces are painted on wood and all are individually painted to obtain a rich, unique character. Often pieces are intentionally heavily sanded and antiqued to acquire a weather-worn, aged quality. Come on in and enjoy a home-baked cookie, a friendly atmosphere, and take a look around. There's much to see as we work all year creating to get ready for our open season. There's bound to be something that you just can't go home without, either for yourself or the perfect gift for a loved one. We're right around the corner from one of Swanzey's historic wooden covered bridges--hence the shop name. Take a ride over the Carlton Bridge and feel the history.
