Group Hayrides

Explore our farm with horse-drawn rides pulled by our Belgian draft horse team, Jack and Max. Our team will literally take you over the stream and through the woods for an old- fashioned ride touring our farm’s 120 acres of fields and forest. Our hay and sleigh rides can accommodate a maximum of 10 people at a time (this includes children and adults). Sleigh rides on our trails require a base of 2 feet of snow. If we do not have enough snow, we will use the wagon instead of the sleigh. No refunds are issued if we need to switch.

Riding Capacity

Our hay and sleigh rides can accommodate up to 12 people at a time. If you would like to break your 30-minute time slot into 15-minute rides so you can accommodate more people we are happy to do this. Please indicate this in your group reservation. For safety reasons, we limit the capacity of riders to ten adults and children. Children 3 and under are not included in the capacity total and must ride on the lap of an adult. Children 4 and older will be included in the capacity total. We will not admit over ten riders on the rides.

Reservations

Reservations for group rides must be made and paid in advance. Book online now!
If you would like to reserve a ride with our 2-seater sleigh or Cinderella carriage or if the times available don’t work for you, you must submit an inquiry through our contact form on the Hay and Sleigh Ride inquiry page. Hayrides: $180 per 30 minutes The wagon’s capacity is 12 adults, but you can accommodate additional people by splitting the hour time into 2 or 3 shorter rides instead of one long ride. Two-Seater Sleigh: $125 per ride (approximately 30 minutes). Room rentals are separate. If the facility is requested with a hayride or sleigh ride, the regular room rates apply in addition to the hourly hayride rate. There must be a compacted base of at least 2 feet of snow for us to offer this ride. Currently not taking reservations until after January 2022.

Cancellations

Cancellations: must be received via call at least 24 hours prior to the start time in order to receive a refund (minus 25% deposit or reschedule). No shows are not refundable under ANY circumstances.

Due to the safety of the animals and driver, there are times when conditions or the health of the animals require us to cancel the ride. If we determine the weather to be unsuitable for rides, or there are other factors or situations at the farm or with the horses where we deem it necessary to cancel for safety reasons, we will email you. Please do not call the farm to check on your reservation. If you have not received an email canceling the ride then it will go off as expected. We will either refund your deposit or reschedule the date. Sleigh rides require at least 2 feet of packed snow on our trails before the team can pull. If we cancel, we will either reschedule your ride or issue you a farm credit for an equal amount that can be applied for future rides, tours, or classes (not farm store).

What We Consider Bad Weather: Temperatures 10 degrees and under or heat index 95 and above, winds, rain, snow, trails that are too icy to safely operate, hazardous driving conditions.

Other Notes

Check-in: Guests are asked to arrive and check in 15 minutes before their scheduled ride time. Guests must check in the farm store located on the first floor of the Learning Center. The ride will leave and end from the Learning Center. What Should I Wear: Wear comfortable clothing, closed toes shoes with excellent treads. This is a farm and walkways are made of gravel and dirt. Walking conditions can be anywhere from ice and snow to mud. In winter wear a hat, gloves, and dress in warm layers for your maximum comfort. Snow gear is great for kids, even adults! Tips: Tips for our teamsters are greatly appreciated. Horses are expensive to keep and teamster work is a labor of love. If you enjoyed your ride please let our teamster know by offering a tip!
