THE EDGE ENSEMBLE OPENS IN ITS NEW HOME! PRESENTS ITALIAN AMERICAN RECONCILIATION BY JOHN PATRICK SHANLEY The Edge Ensemble Theatre Company will present its first ever production in its new home at 310 Marlboro Street, Suite 112, Keene. Onstage will be Italian American Reconciliation by John Patrick Shanley. Opening day is Friday, March 24, and The Edge is eager to welcome its audiences into its new home. Directed by Kim Dupuis, Italian American Reconciliation tells the story of best friends Aldo (Damien Licata) and Huey (Mark DiPietro), as Huey tries to win back his ex-wife Janice (Charlotte Traas) and Aldo confronts his lifelong fear of marriage. Matters are complicated for Huey by his girlfriend, Teresa (Kenzie Yelin). Teresa’s widowed Aunt May (Kim Dupuis) watches the romantic entanglements with a wise and worldly eye. Tristan Shawley is the assistant director and stage manager. John Patrick Shanley was the Oscar-winning screenwriter for the film Moonstruck, and Italian American Reconciliation is in that tradition. It is a delightfully comic and touching exploration of male/female relationships and friendships within the culture of New York City’s Little Italy. The play first opened in Los Angeles in 1987 and subsequently was produced at the famed Manhattan Theatre Club to high acclaim in 1988. The play opens on Friday, March 24 at 7:30 PM. Other performances are Saturday, March 25, at 7:30 PM and Sunday, March 26, at 2 p.m.; and Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, March 30, 31, and April 1, at 7:30 p.m.; and a closing matinee on Sunday, April 2 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $18 for general admission and $15 for seniors and students and may be purchased at the door with either cash or check.
