ONE AFTERNOON ONLY! Ten, vibrant Monadnock farms are opening their barns, pastures, hoop houses, kitchens, and pudding plant (!) for the community to experience their day-to-day lives working to bring food to our tables. The Monadnock Farm Tour is one way we can celebrate the impact of farming operations on our local economy, the role they play in preserving open space, and how they contribute to our quality of life.

2022 Monadnock Farm Tour:

Cheshire Gardens, Winchester, NH

277 Burt Hill Road -Organic farm growing fruits, vegetables, herbs, and flowers and transforming the produce into specialty foods. Self-guided Garden tours, free herbal tea. Frosty fruit pops, blackberry cobbler, bouquets, preserves, mustards, vinegars, herbs, blackberries, etc. for sale.

Cornucopia Project, Peterborough, NH

9 Vose Farm Road – The Cornucopia Project Educational Farm is operated by high school student farmers. Located across from ConVal High School. Tour high tunnels, a native pollinator habitat, and three outdoor growing spaces.

Crescendo Acres, Surry, NH

21 Carpenter Road – Raises alpacas and mini horses, grows Christmas trees, sells maple syrup, and other maple products. Visit with animals, sample maple products, kids make it and take it farm crafts, Christmas tree shearing demo. Visit farm shop filled with many handmade and farm products.

Draft Gratitude, Winchester, NH

148 Ashuelot Street – Gives senior draft horses a safe landing and a place to call home. Meet the draft horses! Learn about the important work we do to provide a safe retirement to senior farming horses.

Echo Farm Puddings, Hinsdale, NH

573 Chesterfield Road – Echo Farm produces the only truly farmstead puddings on our family dairy farm. Pudding Case Sale!! Pudding Samples, Fun Flavors, Cabot Cheese Samples, Visit the Cows and Calves, Tour the Milking Robot, Cabot Cheese Gift Basket Giveaway.

Frisky Cow Gelato, Keene, NH

80 Krif Road Linda Rubin is passionate about gelato! Her artisan, high quality gelato is made from 100% NH milk and cream and her flavors are sourced locally whenever possible. Gelato samples!

Fullam Meadow Farm, Winchester NH

422 Old Chesterfield Road Jane Beauchamp’s main endeavor at the farm is to closely manage her flock of Coopworth sheep. Barn tours, visit the sheep in the pasture and see the full cycle of wool — from this year’s lambs, to touching the wool right on the sheep, all the way to skeins of yarn and sheepskin pelts. Free wool samples. FUN FACT: Her sheep LOVE it when her guests feed them animal crackers! Come feed them this special treat!

Stonewall Farm, Keene, NH

242 Chesterfield Road Stonewall Farm is a nonprofit working farm and educational center whose mission is to demonstrate regenerative farming while educating and engaging people to support food security, ecological resilience, healthy communities and planet.

Sunny Fields Farm, Peterborough, NH

197 Greenfield Rd Alanna Johnson raises Suffolk and Dorset sheep, Dexter cattle and layer and broiler chickens to provide the highest quality meats and eggs at her farm in Peterborough. Using regenerative practices, our soils, forages and animals grow strong, while each enriches the others.

Windyhurst Farm, Westmoreland, NH,

31 Route 63 Stuart & John Adams’ working dairy farm, Windyhurst, supplies milk not just for their calves (which can be visited in their calf barn during the tour) but for the New England Dairy Cooperative.Dine at their Sugarhouse until 3pm, enjoy ice cream, cut your own sunflowers, and check out their extensive pollinator flowers!
COST, TIPS, AND RULES: Cost: $5/pp or $10/car. Wrist bands will be sold at each farm DURING FARM TOUR HOURS ONLY. All money go towards producing the 2023 Monadnock Farm Tour. Monadnock Farm Tour Tips: – Bring cash, credit cards, and a cooler! Farms will be selling a host of products, snacks, clothing, and more! Some are cash only, others take venmo and debit cards. The cooler is to keep your food purchases fresh. – Plan on visiting two or three farms – After petting animals, please take time to use hand sanitizer provided at each farm – Wear shoes – no open-toed sandals. You have no idea what you might step in! AND farms may ask you to disinfect your shoes to prevent farm-to-farm transmission of germs. – Bring sunscreen, hats, bug spray, and water Rules: No pets allowed, no visiting farms after or before Tour hours, no entering farm homes. The 2022 Monadnock Farm Tour is produced by the Monadnock Farm and Community Coalition and the Monadnock Food Co-op.
