MONADNOCK FARM TOUR

Seven Monadnock farms are opening their barns, pastures, hoop houses, flower gardens, and pudding plant (!) to foster a better understanding of their day-to-day lives working to bring food to our tables. The goal of the Monadnock Farm Tour is to provide rich experiences that are educational and fun for consumers while infusing much-needed income into the pockets of local farmers. 2021 Monadnock Farm Tour: Archway Farm, Keene, NH 183 Arch Street – Raises pigs and poultry on pasture. Farm tours including pasture walks, food to eat onsite and take away Cheshire Gardens, Winchester, NH 277 Burt Hill Road -Organic farm growing fruits, vegetables, herbs, and flowers and transforming the produce into specialty foods. Self-guided Garden tours, free herbal tea. Frosty fruit pops, blackberry cobbler, bouquets, preserves, mustards, vinegars, herbs, blackberries, etc. for sale. Cornucopia Project, Peterborough, NH 9 Vose Farm Road – The Cornucopia Project Educational Farm is operated by high school student farmers and located across fromConVal High School. Tour high tunnels, a native pollinator habitat, and three outdoor growing spaces. Crescendo Acres, Surry, NH 21 Carpenter Road – Raise alpacas and mini horses, grows Christmas trees, sells maple syrup and other maple products. Visit with animals, sample maple products, kids make it and take it farm crafts, Christmas tree shearing demo. Visit farm shop filled with many handmade and farm products. Draft Gratitude, Winchester, NH 148 Ashuelot Street – Gives senior draft horses a safe landing and a place to call home. Meet the draft horses! Learn about the important work we do to provide a safe retirement to senior farming horses. Echo Farm Puddings, Hinsdale, NH 573 Chesterfield Road – Echo Farm produces the only truly farmstead puddings on our family dairy farm. Pudding Case Sale!! Pudding Samples, Fun Flavors, Cabot Cheese Samples, Visit the Cows and Calves, Tour the Milking Robot, Cabot Cheese Gift Basket Giveaway Peep Willow Farm/Monadnock Pastures, Marlborough, NH 51 Bixby Street – A cooperative residential agricultural and equestrian condominium community. Tour of the farm – 1st group 12:30-1:30, 2nd group 2:00-3:00. Explanation of the project, meet and greet horses, lives of horses from foal to final furlong. COST, TIPS, AND RULES: Cost: $5/pp or $10/car. Wrist bands will be sold at each farm DURING FARM TOUR HOURS ONLY. All money go towards producing the 2022 Monadnock Farm Tour. Monadnock Farm Tour tips: – Bring cash, credit cards, and a cooler! Farms will be selling a host of products, snacks, clothing, and more! Some are cash only, others take venmo and debit cards. The cooler is to keep your food purchases fresh. – Plan on visiting two or three farms – After petting animals, please take time to use hand sanitizer provided at each farm – Wear shoes – no open-toed sandals. You have no idea what you might step in! AND farms may ask you to disinfect your shoes to prevent farm-to-farm transmission of germs. – Bring sunscreen, hats, bug spray, and water Rules: No pets allowed, no visiting farms after or before Tour hours, no entering farm homes.
