How did the coming of the railroad impact New England communities like Keene, NH? Walk the Cheshire Railtrail through downtown Keene with Historical Society of Cheshire County executive director Alan Rumrill. Learn about the arrival of Keene's first train in 1848. Visit the sites where many industrial firms found success along the tracks in the downtown area.   Ticketing Details Tickets are $10/person. Tickets must be pre-purchased on www.hsccnh.org within 24 hours of the tour day/time. No walk-up tickets will be available at this time. Tour guides do not carry money. Space is limited to 8 people per tour. Tours meet at the Walldogs sign on the corner of Main Street and Railroad Street in Keene. Bring a printed copy of your ticket or show it on your smartphone to the tour guide. Wear comfortable shoes, dress for the weather, and follow our current COVID-19 guidelines below. COVID-19 Health & Safety Measures By purchasing a walking tour ticket from the Historical Society of Cheshire County you agree to abide by these policies: Masks are required for all visitors at all times. Wash hands and use hand sanitizer. 6' social distancing is required at all times. Stay home if you are feeling sick or symptomatic.
