Contoocook Beach

Jaffrey has two public beaches. The Thorndike Pond beach is for residents only. The Contoocook Lake beach on Squantum Road has buoyed swim areas that are marked out from Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend. The beach is open to both residents and non-residents, but parking is restricted: resident vehicles must display a Transfer Station Permit (available at the Town Clerk’s Office), and unpermitted vehicles are subject to a $50 fine and towing. Non-residents can park at Humiston Field (31 Howard Hill Road) and walk over to the beach.
