Meet the Author of "A Deep Presence: 13,000 Years of Native American History" Robert G. Goodby

About this event

As caribou and the last of the wooly mammoths roamed the land, small groups of Paleoindians endured frigid winters on the edge of a river in what would become Keene, New Hampshire. This begins the remarkable story of Native Americans in the Monadnock region, told by archaeologist Robert G. Goodby in his new book, “A Deep Presence: 13,000 Years of Native American history”. Richly illustrated with sixty color photographs, this compelling book tells their story in a narrative fashion, presenting evidence from archaeology, written history, and the living traditions of today’s Abenaki people. The book was produced in partnership with the Historical Society of Cheshire County and the Harris Center for Conservation Education, who are proud to present this important volume on the region’s first inhabitants. Copies of the book will be available for sale, and the author will be on hand for questions and autographs.   For more information and to pre-order a copy visit: https://hsccnh.org/a-deep-presence-13000-years-of-native-american-history/
