Event Details

The Thing in the Spring was founded in 2008 by Eric Gagne, Mary Goldthwaite, and Ryan Wilson, in Peterborough NH. Over the years, it was incorporated into a non-profit organization called The Glass Museum and stewarded by a generous and capable board of directors. After one last big show in September of 2021, Long Live the Thing, the non-profit was dissolved, and The Thing now calls Nova Arts home.

The mission of bringing the outside world in, and of connecting myriad undergrounds in accessible ways, was always part of The Thing in the Spring. Since those ideas are central to what Nova Arts is all about as well, it’s quite the perfect fit.

The photographs below are windows into some of the truly incredible moments of the past 14 years, captured mostly by Elisabeth Fuchsia (2013-2019) and Tim Gurczak (2008-2012); new images from last year’s Thing are by Jim Murphy. We hope you’ll join us as we continue to put together concert experiences featuring exciting lineups of artists from all over.
